Batchmod worked for me (macOS sierra 10.12.4),
unpacked with keka, copy app to applications folder, apply Batchmod permission reset, open keygen, enter hardwarecode - generate serial, doubleclick to authorize file.

Place Live in Applications folder
Right click on the "Ableton Live 9 suite" app and choose "Show Package Contents".
Go to Contents/MacOS
Open terminal write "chmod a+x " (without the quotes) and drag the Live icon found in Contents/MacOS to the terminal window. Press return, your file is now executable and it will now open. Open keygen, enter hardware code (Hardware UUID:), generate serial, open Live, start activation OFFLINE process, double-click auth file, done. (No Batchmod needed)

(NOTE - Keygen may not paste every digit of the hardware code. Just paste the code and click Generate, on my system the last 7 digits did not paste, but license was generated and accepted by Live.)
(For the noobs: Use 'right-click' to copy and paste from Hardware UUID to keygen. Keyboard command will not work.)
